Walk
161 Park L28A (Tour & Taxis)
[Nature]
L28A, the former railway line no. 28A, tells in itself the profound transformation of this part of Brussels over half a century. Until the 1980s, the site was still part of the railway landscape. It then became wasteland before gradually being converted into a heavily used open space in the heart of a very densely built district.
Near Tour & Taxis, the first section of the park is now well known: a vast lawn functioning as a swale, bordered by groups of trees. But the park extends beyond this familiar image and reveals a diversity of landscapes and uses. The walk follows, among other things, the small Drootbeek valley and looks back at the different phases of development, as well as at the actors involved in managing the park today.
In collaboration with Brukselbinnenstebuiten.
