131 Witloof cultivation
[Food history] [Intangible heritage]
A strong symbol of Brussels market-gardening history, witloof holds a special place in the region’s food heritage. This activity explores its cultivation, gestures and know-how through an explanatory film followed by an exchange with the public.
The meeting also sheds light on the role of the Royale Confrérie des Compagnons du Witloof, which works to transmit and promote this local tradition. The discovery continues with a tasting of witloof-based products, approaching this heritage through flavour as well.
The film screened is in French only. General information about the venue and the activity will however be provided in French and Dutch.
In collaboration with the Confrérie et ASBL - Compagnons du Witloof d'Evere.
