7 Along the paths of Brussels chocolate
[Food history] [Intangible heritage]
Belgian chocolate has travelled the world many times over, and Brussels has not earned its title of world capital of chocolate by chance. Yet among the many tempting shop windows and elegant packages, it is not always easy to find one’s way. Nothing looks more like a chocolate than another chocolate. Behind the pretty boxes, however, lies a world worth discovering. Once in Brussels and its chocolate enthusiast, a jury member for the 2026 Best Brussels Artisan Chocolatier competition, set off through the city centre in search of taste-makers, hidden gems and chocolates that truly live up to their reputation. A flavourful route that is also an initiation.
In collaboration with Once in Brussels.
