Embassy of Indonesia

A. de Ville de Goyet © urban.brussels

Occupying much of a block, this huge Belle Époque villa, substantially altered in the 1960s, has undergone a recent restoration led by architects ADR. Their brief was to smooth the transition between successive interventions over time and restore a certain cohesion to the building. Inside, the ironwork and mouldings have been preserved in the reception rooms. A pretty stained-glass window featuring the coat of arms of Indonesia and decorated with palm trees and two figures in traditional costume illuminates one of the rooms.

The Embassy will be showcasing Indonesian culture through its exhibitions and activities, and visitors will also be able to sample the country's traditional snacks.

Guided tours on Saturday, by reservation only: discover the collection of the “Maison culturelle d'Indonésie” – musical instruments, dolls, etc. The tour will include tastings of Indonesian products.
