121 The landscape in Brussels stained glass

The Autrique House, an emblem of Brussels Art Nouveau architecture, welcomes you to this lecture on the theme of landscapes in Brussels stained glass. Although nature had already held an important place in the art of stained glass long before the advent of Art Nouveau, Victor Horta broke with tradition in 1893 and revolutionised the representation of landscapes. As a result, the stained-glass window of the Autrique House represents a highly significant heritage legacy.
The lecture will be given by Thomas Vandormael, PhD researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Ghent University, and specialist in Brussels stained glass.
