Programme
Walk
133 Square François Riga and Avenue Huart Hamoir
[Neighbourhoods]
Brussels has few ensembles with the charm and coherence of Square Riga and Avenue Huart Hamoir. When the avenue was planned in 1906, the aim was to make it more than a traffic axis: an enjoyable urban landscape, where strolling became an experience in itself.
Flâneurs could let themselves be guided from tree to artwork, between culture and nature. The surrounding buildings were developed in two phases, creating today an engaging combination of landscape variation and architectural diversity.
During the walk, the guide reveals both dimensions and recounts how extensive the former “Mon Plaisir” once was here.
In collaboration with Brukselbinnenstebuiten.
