The exhibition of monumental sculptures in Square Armand Steurs has taken place every year for 33 years in a listed Art Deco park, characterised by its terraces, perspectives and pathways. The site forms a constructed urban landscape where architecture, vegetation and sculptural elements enter into dialogue.
The project belongs to the “Art in Public Space” subcategory, integrating contemporary works directly into this landscape. The scenography is conceived as a route, with sculptures accompanying views and movements and creating a progressive reading of the place.
This dialogue between art and landscape offers a renewed discovery of the square and fully reflects the theme “Our landscape, our legacy”, by proposing each year a new interpretation of a living, shared heritage site.
