216 Towards inclusive public spaces: a guided walk through Saint-Gilles with Cécile Vandernoot
[Repurposed] [Social spaces]
This guided walk invites visitors to look again at public space in Saint-Gilles through the lens of gender and inclusiveness. In recent years, architects, urban planners and landscape architects have shown growing awareness of these issues, with the aim of creating a fairer city for everyone.
To make these concerns tangible, the walk crosses three recently redesigned green and urban spaces, conceived as versatile spaces that support diverse and inclusive uses: Place Louis Morichar (Martin Outers, Georges Pirson, Renaud Pleitinx – 2011), Parc Pierre Paulus (Ledroit Pierret Polet architectes and Pigeon Ochej Paysage – 2024) and Place Marie Janson (Studio Paola Viganò + vvv architecture urbanisme – 2023).
In collaboration with L’architecture qui dégenre.
