Rue Berkendael opened in 1900 and gradually developed, partly at the initiative of banker Georges Brugmann. In 1912, architect Paul Piquet received permission to build three Beaux-Arts townhouses, now numbers 94, 96 and 98. Number 98 has a white-stone ground floor with rustication and a wrought-iron door, while the first floor is marked by a broad bow window. Today, the house is the residence of artist Guillaume Bottazzi and provides the setting for his immersive works. The thirty permanent creations, designed for the garden and the building, form a coherent artistic approach that reveals the poetry of this “House of Creation”.
