91 Brussels by bike: how cycling is reshaping the cityscape

© Pro Velo

[Mobility]

Hop on your bike for a ride through the history of Brussels and cycling.
Brussels and the bicycle have had a colourful relationship: at times tragic, often turbulent, but increasingly positive. Its story can be read throughout the city. Cycling has left its mark on the Brussels cityscape and continues to reshape it as more space is gradually won for life on two wheels. Read the streets from the saddle and trace the bicycle from its earliest days to the present. Meet the organisations championing cycling, follow sections of EuroVelo 5 and explore the capital’s bike-friendly routes. From the first Critical Mass rides and cycling cafés to the Fête de la Charge and the Grand Hospice hub, this tour will turn you into a true Brussels cycling insider!

Bikes are available to hire for the ride (subject to availability) – please contact Pro Velo by email (info@provelo.org) or by telephone on 02 502 73 55. On 20 September, participants are advised to bring their own bikes.
