The Municipality of Ganshoren's two cultural departments (Service Culture Française and Dienst Nederlandse Cultuur) are organising a talk and guided walking tours on the presence in Ganshoren of Jean Delhaye (1908-1993), architect and champion of the work of Victor Horta.

A student and huge admirer of Horta, Delhaye sought to preserve threatened works by the master at a time when Art Nouveau had fallen out of favour and many buildings in that style were being demolished.

Delhaye built seven apartment buildings in Ganshoren between 1936 and 1960. Several of these modernist structures feature hints of Art Nouveau decoration, particularly in the ironwork.

This guided walking tour in and around Avenue de Villegas/de Villegaslaan and Avenue Charles-Quint/Keizer Karellaan will take in the seven buildings designed by Delhaye in Ganshoren.

In cooperation with the Municipality of Ganshoren's two cultural departments and Korei Guided Tours.
