125 The railway landscape as landscape heritage (departure from Evere)

[Mobility]

This bike excursion explores exceptional railway landscapes in the north of Brussels. The former marshalling yards of Schaerbeek-Josaphat, Tour & Taxis and Schaerbeek-Formation tell a layered story where urban development, ecology and industrial heritage meet.
Along the way, these former railway infrastructures appear as far more than remnants of the past. They function as landscape heritage, climate buffers and common goods, while also standing at the centre of social debates about the future of the city.
The excursion invites a different view of railway landscapes: not as residual zones between nature and city, but as essential and often underestimated parts of our urban and landscape heritage.

Departure on Saturday at 09:45 (NL-FR-EN, duration 2h45, maximum 25 people per departure).
