This workshop offers a participatory introduction to the Grand-Place as an emblematic urban landscape. As a central place in Brussels life, it reveals a landscape shaped by historical, architectural, economic and social forces, in direct connection with the theme “Our landscape, our heritage”. Held on the top floor of the Brussels City Museum (Maison du Roi), with a view over the Grand-Place, the workshop combines observation, landscape reading and historical insight. Developed with the City of Brussels’ Historical Heritage Unit, it explores the site’s construction, transformations, uses and the challenges linked to its conservation (UNESCO). Designed for families, it invites participants to better understand the history, uses and many facets of this exceptional place.
