The city is full of memories, and the Stadsoren audio walk gives them a voice. Current and former residents of Brussels’ Pentagon share their stories in the places where they unfolded: on benches, at street corners and on squares.
Their voices bring the neighbourhood to life and show that an urban district is never fixed, but constantly changing. The storytellers form a diverse group: young and old, people with and without a permanent home, sighted people and people gradually losing their sight.
Accompanied by a guide, participants rediscover public space. Familiar squares, avenues and streets take on new meaning when personal memories, neighbourhood history and urban transformation come together. The group gathers each time around a speaker from which the stories are played. The guide leads the walk, provides brief explanations and makes sure everyone can follow the stories comfortably.
