166 The Senne and the canal in the heart of Brussels

© Coordination Senne - Coördinatie Zenne

[Mobility]

Brussels was born on the banks of the Senne. The river was once attractive and rich in fish, its banks covered with yellow irises. Through street names, buildings, monuments and other traces, this route invites visitors not only to follow the river’s traces, but also to discover the story of the canal and of the old and new harbour, gaining a clearer understanding of their development and future prospects.

Guided tour in Dutch on Sunday at 14:00 (duration 2h30, maximum 20 people).

In collaboration with Coordination Senne - Coördinatie Zenne.
