22 The Grand Hospice
[Social spaces]
Pending major renovation works intended to create housing and collective services, the Brussels CPAS has entrusted the former Pacheco Hospice to a temporary project with a strong social and cultural focus. The Grand Hospice now forms a vast 16,000 m² ensemble, open to new uses and animated by a collective dynamic.
At the heart of the site, two gardens listed since 1997 are once again accessible to the public. True pockets of greenery in the Pentagon, they offer a calmer inner landscape, almost withdrawn from the city, where hospital architecture and planted spaces combine to create a place to breathe.
For the occasion, a residents’ market will bring together concerts, music workshops and stands by around twenty creators: textile creations, ceramics, illustration, jewellery, screen printing, upcycling, photography and other proposals. In the afternoon, Bar Jardin will welcome visitors with drinks and snacks.
In collaboration with Pali Pali.
