At the heart of Brussels, religious heritage shapes an urban landscape deeply marked by spirituality, history and the transformations of society.
From the majestic Church of Our Lady of the Sablon to the imposing Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula, via the sober Church of the Minimes, this route takes in a series of emblematic buildings that bear witness to the capital’s religious and cultural richness.
Through their architecture — Flamboyant Gothic, Baroque or Classical — and their place in the urban fabric, these buildings form a true spiritual landscape. A landscape where silence, light, verticality and symbols enter into dialogue with the bustle of the contemporary city.
A walk between stone and spirituality, revealing how Brussels was also built through its places of worship, true landmarks in the urban landscape and in collective memory.
