An emblematic apartment building in the Brussels landscape, the Palais de la Folle Chanson was designed in 1928 by Antoine Courtens, a pupil of Victor Horta. Its programme was complex and innovative for the time: fourteen highly comfortable apartments served by a monumental staircase and four lifts, garages, a concierge’s lodge, service rooms, panoramic terraces and a shared lounge on the top floor. The architectural language of the façades is typically Art Deco, complemented by highly refined interior finishes. The visit gives access to the entrance hall, staircase, terraces, dome and a corner apartment, where an exhibition of works by Philippe Leblanc will be presented, combining art and mathematics in an aesthetic close to Art Deco.
