After moving around various locations, including the Galeries Anspach, Rue de la Caserne, the Byrrh buildings and Chaussée de Vilvorde, Zinneke settled permanently on Place Masui in 2003. The building, purchased by the Brussels-Capital Region, was made available to the organisation behind the famous Zinneke Parade, first held in 2000.
This neoclassical townhouse was built between 1858 and 1876. It opens onto a vast complex inside the block, designed in 1923 by architect Jules Libois for the Ministry of Finance, which set up a stamp-printing workshop there. Zinneke transformed the ensemble into a large space for meeting, training, creation and production linked to the Zinneke project. Now called Mazui, it functions as a laboratory, a breeding ground for socio-artistic actions that build bridges between Zinneke and residents, associations, artists and other social, cultural, economic and environmental actors in Brussels and beyond. In short, it is a remarkable 4,000 m² example of an interactive landscape.
