Explore the picturesque Maelbeek valley in the company of your guide!

It's hard to imagine what this area looked like before 1880, but that is exactly what we'll be discovering together!

At that time, as today, many people longed to live in green surroundings. With that in mind, a whole new neighbourhood was created here, with the pretty Maelbeek valley "landscaped" to provide plenty of space and greenery. This is an artificial, carefully designed landscape within an urban setting, something that is also reflected in the architecture. There are countless references to wildlife, and especially to plants and flowers, some very literal, others more abstract – a loop, a wavy line or a sloping outline. The beautiful Art Nouveau houses in the squares are a dream come true, with nature never far away.
