51 In the footsteps of sculptor Godecharle, around the Palace of the Nation and the Royal Park

Art in public spaces

From Place de la Nation, set off in the footsteps of sculptor Gilles-Lambert Godecharle (1750-1835), an artistic link between Parliament and the Royal Park. He was also highly valued under the successive Austrian, French, Dutch and Belgian regimes. This short self-guided walk reveals the pediment and trophies on the Rue de la Loi side, as well as sculptures by him and in his honour in the park. With a few lovely surprises …

The outdoor route is freely accessible from 10:00 to 16:30. Starting point: Place de la Nation, Rue de la Loi 8-10. The route is not guided, but multilingual staff (FR-NL-EN-DE) will be present at several points to provide additional explanations. Duration: 20 to 30 minutes.
