Walk
8 Brussels monasteries in four dimensions
[Intangible heritage]
During this guided walk, you will discover Brussels’ hidden monastic heritage. In the past, many religious institutions formed part of the urban landscape: not only do some streets still bear their names, but they also played an important social role in education, assistance to the poor and the sick, agriculture and more. What remains of them today? This walk explores both the tangible and intangible traces of this rich past and reflects on a topical question: how can this religious heritage be given a new purpose in a city undergoing constant change?
In collaboration with Brussels Chatterguides.
