Walk

24 Brussels beyond the boundaries of gender, with Apolline Vranken

[Intangible heritage]

What indicators can help shape gender-sensitive architecture? And how can gender relations be challenged in housing and the built environment?

This walk beyond the boundaries of gender takes the form of a practical “Gender Toolkit”. It offers architects and urban planners, as well as decision-makers and users, concrete tools for thinking about more equal architecture and urban design. The route passes through several key places in central Brussels — Place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains, Square Jacques Brel, Jardin aux Fleurs and Porte de Ninove Park — and looks at how these places shape gender relations.

In collaboration with L’architecture qui dégenre.
