The Rue Libre collective was founded in 2023 by twelve passionate dancers wishing to explore, question and poetically activate public space, while encouraging encounter and social connection through dance and play. In practice, Rue Libre creates and leads free, twice-monthly workshops in danced movement, open to all and held directly in public space. Depending on the place and the people leading the session, the approach and focus vary: the collective has already set its steps at the Congress Column and its esplanade, in the Marolles along the comic-strip mural route, as well as at Schuman station, the Galerie du Roi and Place Flagey.
For the 2026 Heritage Days, Rue Libre takes over the Congress Column and its esplanade for a danced-movement workshop. Children and adults are invited to reinhabit this place of memory through gesture and play, and to reveal a sensitive, collective reading of it.
