Epitaaf vzw is organising an interactive treasure hunt at Laeken Cemetery for the Heritage Days, bringing heritage to life. Cemeteries are often seen as silent, static places, but in reality they are living landscapes where history, memory and care are constantly in motion. In keeping with the theme of shared heritage, transformation and urban dynamics, the public is invited to use old photographs to locate precisely where the images were once taken. On site, participants take a contemporary photograph, bringing past and present into dialogue. The result is a playful exchange between layers of time, space and experience, revealing the cemetery as a place of change, encounter and storytelling.

The treasure hunt runs continuously during the venue’s opening hours and is given in French-Dutch-English.

In collaboration with Epitaaf vzw.
