In search of Art Nouveau in Laeken / Laken: understated yet inspired

© urban.brussels

Art Nouveau is very much in evidence in Laeken/Laken, albeit in less flamboyant fashion than in Brussels' eastern neighbourhoods.

In this former municipality, the Art Nouveau creations are more understated and scattered, but also greatly inspired by other styles.

Many of the façades in its early-20th-century neighbourhoods are well worth a visit, as you will discover on this guided walking tour between Avenue Jean Sobieski/Jan Sobieskilaan and Square Prince Léopold/Prins Leopoldsquare.

In cooperation with Laeken Découverte/Laken Onthuld.
