Art Deco and Modernism in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre

Building rue Liétart © Municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre

Woluwe-Saint-Pierre in 1900 was the Ardennes at the gateway to Brussels. The railway and Avenue de Tervueren would profoundly transform this rural village.

In the interwar years, Art Deco, initiated by the emblematic Palais Stoclet, which also influenced the first modernist projects, would overturn the achievements of the Belle Époque. Relive the urbanisation of this pleasant, green residential community on a fascinating walk.

In collaboration with Bruxelles Bavard. With the support of the Municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre.
