Woluwe Shopping Centre

© Woluwe Shopping Center (Eurocommercial Properties Belgium SA)

Opened in 1968, Woluwe Shopping Centre was modelled on the basis of the large shopping malls found in American suburbs, where accessibility by car is key. The choice of location, at the intersection of the main thoroughfares in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert/Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe and easily accessible from the Brussels Ring, dates the complex to a time when the car ruled supreme – a situation often called into question today. The first building of its kind in Belgium when it went up, the Shopping Centre is still a major shopping destination in the east of Brussels.

In cooperation with the Municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert/Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe.
