The Calypso swimming pool was commissioned by Watermael-Boitsfort/Watermaal-Bosvoorde municipal council and built in 1974 to a design by architectural firm BEAI. The specifications were for a building comprising a 33-metre swimming pool, paddling pools, showers and changing rooms, a cafeteria and a water purification and heating room. Refurbished in 1981, the pool has retained its late modernist style, with many original features including its white brick walls and frames. Its semi-pyramidal profile features two all-glass façades, allowing swimmers to enjoy natural light and views of the surrounding green space. In summer, there is a solarium in the garden.
