Programme
Walk
From Brussels-West Station to the Belgica Metro
Originally a village of farmers and craftspeople, Molenbeek was swallowed up by the industrial expansion of the city centre and so boasts a variety of commercial buildings, including factories, workshops and warehouses. These economic activities reshaped the plot layout with the incorporation of service infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing population.
Our tour will follow the route of metro line 6. With old buildings converted into sports facilities and government offices into residential blocks, the outlines of these buildings bear witness to the changing face of the municipality and the diversity of its heritage.
In cooperation with Brussels Chatterguides.
