Belgian Art in 1925: Abstraction vs Surrealism
The René Magritte Museum offers continuous guided tours of the museum, focusing on the artists in the collection who left their mark on Belgium during the Roaring Twenties: René Magritte, Victor Servranckx and Jozef Peeters. The year 1925 was particularly important, with the emergence of a Surrealist group in Brussels. This group was fiercely opposed to the aesthetic theories of the pioneers of abstract art.
Photographs are permitted, but only with smartphones.
