Walk
Shades of green
Climate issues, ecological awareness and a visceral need to (re)connect with nature have led concrete-saturated city dwellers to want to preserve, renovate and create green spaces, however small they might be.
This guided walk will explore the history and development of three parks embedded in the urban fabric, as well as their new-found importance.
The modest Parc Buchholtz/Buchholtzpark, tucked away in the middle of a block of buildings and surrounded by flats, is currently being restored. From dawn to dusk, Parc Tenbosch/Tenboschpark, a real historic arboretum, attracts families, students and walkers alike. The newest of the three, Avenue Louise/Louizalaan Park, was created recently on the last part of the avenue that had not been disfigured by road tunnels.
In cooperation with E-Guides.
