Horta’s revival

In cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta, the Horta Museum is organising a round-table discussion on the entrenchment of Horta’s work in the architecture of the 1970s. Jos Vandendreeden, Maurizio Cohen and Ezio Godoli will talk about Renaat Braem, Lucien-Jacques Baucher and Paolo Portoghesi and their connection with Horta, after which there will be a discussion led by Benjamin Zurstrassen (in French), in which the audience can participate.

6.00 p.m.: Welcoming the participants

6.15 p.m.: “De Art nouveau en wij” (Art nouveau and us), architect Renaat Braem’s vision in 1969
Jos Vandenbreeden, former managing director of Sint-Lukasarchief, administrator at Fondation CIVA Brussels

6.40 p.m.: 1969 – 1996 “Le Hall” by Lucien-Jacques Baucher in the Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR)
Maurizio Cohen, university teacher at the Faculté d’architecture La Cambre-Horta of the Université Libre de Bruxelles and head of department at the Faculté d’architecture de l’Université de Liège

7.05 p.m.: Paolo Portoghesi or the architecture of memories
Ezio Godoli, former professor of architecture history at Florence University and chairman of the Tuscany documentation centre for contemporary architecture

7.30 p.m.: Round table discussion led by Benjamin Zurstrassen, curator of the Horta museum
