Bruxelles-Luxembourg/Brussel-Luxemburg station, in the heart of Brussels’ European Quarter, is much more than just a transit point. A look around this iconic station can reveal plenty of items of interest and curiosity for visitors.
First and foremost, as a European transport hub, the station highlights the importance of rail connections in the region. It serves as a vital hub for travellers to and from places across Europe, offering a glimpse into the continent’s cultural and linguistic diversity.
Moreover, the station itself is an impressive example of railway architecture. The extensively remodelled station, which in its original form dates back to 1854, was inaugurated in 2009. It blends contemporary aesthetics with functional design elements, creating a unique and dynamic atmosphere.
Furthermore, the station’s proximity to the European institutions makes it a key transit point for politicians, diplomats and officials, giving visitors the chance to observe politics in action.
