Walk

The North District, from International Style to Postmodernism

© Association des Amis de l’Unesco

Boulevard du Roi Albert II/Koning Albert II-laan and the area around it make up a unique Brussels ‘ensemble’ bringing together architecture from the 1970s to the present day.
From the WTC towers to the Zenith building, this district is home to some iconic examples of office architecture, which are evolving almost all the time.
Join us as we explore the different architectural styles over the decades and the issues shaping the choices made by this neighbourhood’s architects and town planners.
The tour includes a visit to the interior of the stunning Saint-Roch/Sint-Rochus Church, a rare example of postmodern religious architecture in Brussels.

In cooperation with the Association des Amis de l’Unesco (Association of Friends of UNESCO).
