The hidden facets of the Schaerbeek/Schaarbeek diamond (fully booked)
In the Diamant neighbourhood of Schaerbeek/Schaarbeek, lively entertainment venues and vibrant meeting places are tucked behind anonymous doorways. L’Os à Moelle, a small cellar cabaret in Avenue Émile Max/Émile Maxlaan, saw artists such as Barbara and Arno perform on its stage since the 1960s. Today, it continues to play host to comedians, singers and actors. Le 139 is a former garage that is now home to rehearsal rooms, creative workshops, a micro-distillery specialising in gin-making, sewing classes and a collection point for organic vegetables. A few steps away, at the back of an apartment building, is Le 140, a discreet but internationally renowned theatre, where tickets are collected from a former 19th-century coach house. A few streets further on, Théâtre la Balsamine is surrounded by the remains of buildings from the old Dailly barracks, dating from the 19th century. This is one walk where entertainment and surprises are guaranteed!
