Parc Léopold/Leopoldspark: from zoo to science hub (fully booked)
Parc Léopold/Leopoldspark was formerly a zoo, as evidenced by the entrance pavilions that can still been seen on the Rue Belliard/Belliardstraat side. Although brief, this episode was to leave a permanent mark on the site in the form of the Museum of Natural Sciences. Other institutions followed in its wake, including institutes of sociology, physiology and anatomy (all designed by top architects), making this park a true science hub. The Eastman Dental Institute, designed by architect Michel Polak, is now a museum called the House of European History. The tour will take in all these locations – places for people to meet and interact, and which have left their mark on the history of this beautiful site.
