Places to be: celebrating the versatility and history of squares

Agora, forum, square, piazza, place… These are just some of the names for an urban meeting hub that can be found in every culture and country. In Brussels, the squares whose cobblestones we cross every day are ideally suited to pomp and pageantry, games, markets, festivals, cultural events, commemorations and demonstrations, to name but a few.

But did they always look as they do today and have the same function?

In cooperation with Itinéraires, sur les Sentiers de l’Histoire.
