Estaminets and cafés. Brussels stories (fully booked)
Starting from Halles Saint-Géry/Sint-Gorikshallen, a walk through the centre of Brussels will reveal how the city’s residents of yesteryear lived and worked… and then recharged their batteries in their favourite cafés and estaminets, taverns or bars. The story of these watering holes will be told from medieval times on. The tour will take in various iconic Brussels cafés, bars and taverns – Taverne Greenwich, L’Archiduc, Le Coq, Café Metteko, Le Falstaff and Le Cirio – as well as Rue des Bouchers/Beenhouwersstraat, Grand-Place/Grote Markt, including La Maison du Cygne, and the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert/Koninklijke Sint-Hubertusgalerijen.
This walking tour draws its inspiration from the book Estaminets et cafés. Histoires bruxelloises (Estaminets and cafés. Brussels stories).
