The gardens of Neder Tuinen, or heritage past and future…
This walk, waymarked with QR codes and offering a foretaste of a proposed Urban Museum, will take you through Parc Meudon/Meudonpark, an oasis of green in Neder-Over-Heembeek. You will find out about the history of the now demolished Meudon Castle, and discover what a magical place this was in the not-too-distant past, with its French-style gardens and greenhouses that rivalled those of nearby Laeken/Laken. At each stop, a fun discovery awaits. You’ll come away knowing much more about an exceptional piece of heritage from the beginning of the last century, some of which still exists, as well as a proposal for its future. So relax and enjoy a stroll in this bucolic setting, which is sure to win you over with its joyful, convivial atmosphere.
There will also be a small retrospective exhibition featuring reproductions and archive material, helping you to relive Meudon in its heyday (Brussels Cruise Terminal, chaussée de Vilvoorde 145/Vilvoordsesteenweg 145 in Brussels-Neder-over-Heembeek).
