Nos Pilifs Farm
It is remarkable that rural spots such as Nos Pilifs Farm can still be found in the Brussels-Capital Region! The facilities were built from 1984 onwards and are surrounded by more than 5 hectares of woods, meadows, paddocks, ponds, vegetable gardens and paths, with over half of the area given over to an animal park. Established with the aim of offering useful, rewarding and paid work to people with disabilities, the enterprise now has 200 workers, including 145 with disabilities. The jobs are divided into three areas: green trades (gardening and market gardening businesses, eco-garden centre, joiner’s workshop); sustainable food and hospitality (organic grocery store and bakery, organic workshop, estaminet); and environmental education (training courses and awareness workshops for people of all ages, traineeships and educational days for schoolchildren). Wandering around the farm park, you will see how the land is managed in a natural and eco-friendly way, offering plenty of inspiration for anyone wanting to make their own garden more welcoming to biodiversity. A popular destination with locals, the farm is a great place to socialise and have fun while also learning something new.
