Panoramic view over Parc du Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark and restoration of the museum roofs
In October 2018, the Belgian Buildings Agency embarked on a huge project to renovate the roofs of the Cinquantenaire Museums in Brussels, covering a total surface area of over 30,000 m² equivalent to six football pitches!
In the Arcades gallery of the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces, with its beautiful vaulted ceilings, an exhibition will take you behind the scenes of this mammoth scheme, scheduled for completion in 2023.
From the exhibition, a staircase will take you straight up to the terraces, located on either side of the bronze four-horse chariot on top of the triumphal arch. Here, at a height of 85 metres, you will have an extraordinary panoramic view over the park and the Belgian capital, as well as the impressive mosaic of zinc, slate and glass roofs.
A truly breathtaking experience!
