From track to trail
Only vague traces and memories now remain of the railway line that used to link Brussels to Tervuren as well as the stations, inns and bridges that went with it. Today, the section between Auderghem/Oudergem and Woluwe-Saint-Lambert/Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe has become a place where families, joggers, cyclists, walkers and children can meet and exercise. But how many of us realise that this tree-lined corridor takes us on a journey back in time? Do we feel the shadow of King Leopold II as we traverse the grand avenues and glorious parks? On this tour, you will be able to savour the tranquil atmosphere of a railway track turned into green trail that cuts straight through Belgian history, and enjoy a breath of fresh air while exploring the heritage of some of the municipalities in Brussels’ outer suburbs.
