Two home turfs in one
This walk takes you on a tour of Parc Astrid/Astridpark, one of the many parks in the Brussels-Capital Region and close to the hearts of Anderlecht residents. Dating back over a century (1911), this landscaped 15-hectare space is a green artery nestled in the magnificent Art Deco neighbourhood of Meir, providing a delightful meeting place for young and old alike. At every time of year, you can find people playing on its lawns and relaxing on its benches, shaded by its remarkable trees. And thanks to a recent extensive renovation, its pond and waterfalls have been given a new lease of life. The park even contains an iconic football stadium, the biggest in Brussels and the home of Anderlecht football club, or Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht (RSCA) to give its proper name, established in 1908 – the rallying point par excellence for its ardent supporters.
